Frequently Asked Questions

Before your appointment.

It goes without saying, please come to your appointment clean, however if you are coming straight from work I do have toilet facilities if you wish to freshen up upon arrival.

Allowing a minimum of 3 weeks growth since your last form of hair removal will give you the best results, 4 weeks ideally. If it’s been longer thats also fine, but please leave any trimming to me, you may take too much off, so Its best if you just come as you are! If you are growing the hair for the first time after shaving, yes its a pain to wait but once you have reached that point, the hair will grow back so slowly and much finer that its totally worth the perseverance.

It would be helpful to gently exfoliate (preferably with a natural sugar scrub) and moisturise the area 2/3 days before your treatment, this will help bring out any stubborn hairs and get rid of any dead skin cells, making way for a better waxing result.

If possible wear loose clothing to your appointment so your skin has a chance to breathe and cool down after your treatment.

Can I still be waxed on my period?

Yes this isn’t a problem and happens often and sometimes unexpectedly.
Just wear a fresh tampon and I’ll work around it.
You may be slightly more sensitive around this time but it won’t be much different.

Can I still be waxed if I’m pregnant?

Yes also no problem, unless you have any complications during your pregnancy whereby I will need your GP`s consent. I may adapt some positions for your comfort throughout your pregnancy.

Will I need to undress?

For intimate waxing I cannot provide a thorough wax with your knickers on, however once we have got you through that little mental hurdle you will be absolutely fine! I will do my best to make you feel as comfortable as possible as quickly as possible. Just remember, this is what I do for a living, all I am focusing on is the hair and skin, and making sure you have the best result.

Will it hurt?

Its honestly not that bad! The results far outweigh the temporary discomfort. Everyone has a slightly different pain threshold, but the vast majority of clients say they expected it to hurt more.
Shaving does make the hair strong and harder to wax, but after a few waxes this does get much easier, as the hair thins and grows more sparse.

How long do the results last?

Again everyone is different, some people do have a slightly faster hair growth than others, but one thing you can be almost certain is that you will see far slower hair growth during the first 3 weeks.
If you usually shave it can take a few treatments to get your hair growth cycle growing at similar times but the trick is to not be tempted to shave or any other hair removal methods at all. Continued waxing DOES encourage slower, sparser re growth. Side note: Life happens – If you need to resort to shaving or you even just want the odd one off wax, that is no problem as long as the hair has grown enough to be waxed. I will never question a time lapse even if it has been years!

How old do I need to be?

I cannot offer Intimate Waxing on anyone under the age of 18. For all other waxing treatments of clients under 16, a parental consent form is required and presence of a parent at the appointment.
